Unfortunately the British weather isn't always too kind to us, and it sometimes feels as though we have more rainy days than not. That's why we thought it's time to make the most of the rainy days and find something positive.
1. Indoor Picnic
Why not take a wholesome outdoor activity and bring it inside? Lay a blanket out or create a spread on your table and enjoy the nostalgia of a good old picnic.
2. Play Games
This one may be a little more challenging if you're enjoying your rainy day solo, although that being said, who doesn't enjoy a good old game of solitaire? Whether you're a fan of card games, board games, electronic games or anything in between, games and puzzles are a great way to pass the time.
3. Movie Day
There is nothing more comforting then wrapping up in a big blanket, grabbing a big bowl of popcorn and enjoying a good movie marathon. The only question that remains – salt or sweet?
4. Baking
Baking is proven to have a multitude of benefits including reducing stress and tension. Whether you prefer savoury or sweet, there's a huge array of options; from brownies to bread and pies to puddings. Best of all, you get to reap the rewards yourself and enjoy your delightful baked goods.
5. Create New Recipes
Whether you just fancy being creative with your food, or you're aiming to make your own collection of recipes, rainy days are the best days to get your chef's hat on.
6. Visit a Museum
Museums are a great place to learn, be inspired and connect with a wide array of history, art and culture. Depending on your location, some museums can actually be free or low cost making them an affordable rainy day out.
7. Find somewhere new to visit in your local area
Sometimes it takes a rainy downpour for you to realise what's right on your doorstep. This could be anything from a new restaurant, escape room, cafe or anything else you can hunt down.
8. Go for a rainy scenic drive
A rainy scenic drive is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, without needing to get rained on too much. You could go for a drive to a local view point, green area or anywhere else that calls to you.
9. Find your Next Project
This one can be up to personal interpretation, but our first thoughts of projects include crafting, DIY, gardening, photography and travelling.
10. Go rainbow hunting!
You know the old saying – if you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain. With that in mind, why not go rainbow hunting; you could go out in the car or wrap up and go for a wander.
Whether you're spending the rainy day solo, or enjoying quality time with loved ones, sometimes there's nothing nicer then getting cosy and watching the world pass by.
