Garden ponds are a great way to add something special to your garden. Not only do they look spectacular, but they are also a lovely project to spend some time on in the summer months.
Maintenance
To ensure your pond is looking lovely and fresh, we recommend frequently removing dead leaves, flowers and other debris from the water. Following this, we would recommend trimming overgrown plants and flowers.
Greenery
When it comes to choosing your greenery around your garden pond there are many things to consider. It's important to think about the positioning of plants and flowers. Many people have different opinions on the different pond zones, but we like to simplify it into 3 simple zones:
Zone One: Pond-side. Pond-side plants are great for adding some colour and character to your pond border, whilst also encouraging wildlife to the area.
Plants we recommend in Zone 1 include Astilbes, Primroses and Ferns.
Zone Two: Pond-edges. Pond-edge plants typically emerge out of the water and flower above the surface. They also add depth to the border of ponds and continue to add character to the area.
Plants we recommend in Zone 2 include Marigolds, Irises and Watercress.
Zone 3: Deep Water. Deep Water Plants are planted in the deeper areas of the pond and are essential for water quality. You can also consider adding floating plants to the deep water, which are low maintenance and give great shade to frogs, newts and fish.
Plants we recommend in Zone 3 include Water Lillies, Water Lettuce and Water Violets.
As well as greenery, you could also choose to include some ornaments or other decorations around your pond. A mixture of colours and textures always adds a lot of character to any garden.
Pond Bridge
Garden bridges are our speciality, and we lovingly craft each one by hand at our Lincolnshire workshop in the UK. We have a wide range of bridges, which come in a variety of lengths, widths, styles and rails. When it comes to choosing a garden pond bridge, it certainly comes down to personal preference, however, these are some of our favourite garden bridges for sprucing up your:

In addition to the range of bridges you can see here, we can also create bespoke custom-designed bridges. Some of the specifications you might want to consider customising include the length of the bridge, the height and style of the rails and whether or not you want your bridge to feature steps or ramps. If you have a specific idea in mind that you can't see on the website then feel free to get in contact with us, and we can try our best to accommodate your design ideas. Seating around the pond
What's the point in creating this masterpiece if you don't have somewhere to sit and marvel at your creation?
For admiring your enchanting pond, we would recommend either a wooden garden bench such as our Torrington Table Garden Seat, or some wooden garden chairs such as our Light Garden Arm Chairs.
If you're looking for something more unique, you might want to consider a Garden Swing Hammock like our Garden Swing Hammock, or some Garden Conversation Seats like our Torrington Garden Conversation Seat.
